Photography places me at the mercy of the elements, through working with natural light – its moods, ambience, incandescence – particularly the transforming effects of light in landscape photography.
Over the years, I've been privileged to journey into majestic, wild and sacred places, experiencing the energy and stillness of vast deserts, mountains, gorges and flood plains.
Being by the sea, in the desert, on an escarpment overlooking wilderness, provides an extended sense of space and timelessness, a sense of interconnectedness, where internal and external worlds are harmonised.
Such is the power of these places that contemplative states naturally arise. At those times I feel like I’m traveling through a sacred landscape, one of elemental energy, space, light and luminosity.
